Autumn Macramé

in #artzone6 years ago (edited)

Hello :)

Here is another macramé necklace, this time with crazy lace agate!

Started the necklace one evening, and finished it the day after.
I took some pictures of the creation:

So here we start with envelopping the powerful stone :)

Adding strains

And here are the first two leaves (looks like wings?:D)

Adding another color...
So if you wonder how to create those leaves, here I photographed the process of it (in the sunshine :D)

Ps: if your mind comes in and tells you that you can not do it, or that this sounds or looks difficult, please don‘t get involved in such thoughts. If you can tie your shoe laces, then you can also learn the art of macramé :D

You take 4 arm lengths strains. Fix one horizontal lace on the macramé board (or any cardboard where you fix your strains). On this one, you fix the other 4 strains with an usual knot (the strain is now transformed into 2 same lengths strains).

Then take the strain that is on the left and make it horizontal to the others.
Wrap all of the other strain twice around the horizontal one (shown on the picture)

Here the first horizontal row is finished :)

Do the same with very vertical strain.

Here is once again shown how to wrap it around (you need to wrap it twice).

Second row finished. Continue the process :)

Here 1/2 of the leaves is finished.

Take the last vertical strain and fix it higher as seen on the picture. Wrap it around twice with the nearest horizontal strain and then continue to the next strain. Stop there and begin again from the first, second,... always take one strain more than before. (Same knot all the time).

Until you see something like this...

Finished. All you have to do, is cut what is left and burn (if it’s acrylic) or glue it that it won‘t open up again.

I made a few more leaves that now need to be attached to the othes ones. There are different ways to do that, you can use a needle or a tiny crochet to connect one to the other and then close&glue it on the back side.

A bit of chaos with all the strains around :) but it‘s good to check if that‘s the way you want to match them.

Night has come with a little freestyle for the cord :D

Left and right finished, now there is only to match it together....

And here it is, craft finished under the moon !

Precious jewelry, with a beautiful crazy lace agate, created during full moon in pure intention and lots of love :)

The description of how you do it, makes me want to try this art.
