Assange Saw First Visitors at Maximum Security Prison Yesterday

Nearly a month after Julian Assange was taken by British authorities from the Ecuadorian embassy, he finally got receive his first visitors yesterday May 7. WikiLeaks Editor Kristinn Hrafnsson brought Pamela Anderson with him for the visit.

Hrafnsson said it was shocking for him to see his friend in a high security prison, spending 23 hours a day in a cell, with 30 minutes outdoors if weather permits.

"It is for me shocking to see my friend, an intellectual, a publisher, a journalist, a man who that transformed the world of journalism with his work."

"This is no justice. This is an abomination."

Hrafnsson spoke of how you can judge the civilization of a society by visiting it's prisons, and said "I have to say from my heart that this visit did not reflect well on this society."

Speaking of Assange's state, he reports that Assange is "bent but not broken", as he is an "extremely resilient person".

"I want you to think about the fact that such resilience comes from the fact that he knows he is innocent. He knows he has done nothing wrong. He knows he is being persecuted for the simple fact of doing journalistic work."

That's what Hrafnsson wanted the reporters to relay to the general public.

Pamela Anderson rightly mentioned how Assange is being treated as a violent criminal when he's done nothing of the sort:

"He doesn't deserve to be in a super-max prison. He's never committed a violent act. He's an innocent person. He doesn't have access to a library, a computer or any information. He's cut off from everybody. He hasn't been able to speak to his children."

"Justice will depend on public support."

Anderson ended speaking about Assange by saying she felt "sick" and "nauseous", due to Assange's circumstances.

Assange has lost weight, says Hrafnsson. Asked by a reporter how Assange is doing stuck in a cell for 30h, Hrafnsson responded by askign what it would be like for anyone in that prison:

"...especially when you are there because another country demands your extradition for journalistic activity. It's outrageous."

Another "reporter" said "technically he's there for skipping bail", which is bullshit that Hrafnsson corrected.

"Technically he's there for seeking asylum, which is an international right. If he was simply serving that time (for skipping bail), he would be allowed more visitors."

And that's the truth. Someone who skipped their bail, is sent to 50 week sin a maximum security prison when they are not accused of having committed any violent crime to begin with! The anti-Assange crowd, or those indifferent to what is going on, don't seem to grasp the simple reality. They can't think, being too brainwashed by the power structure and media lies to manipulate their consciousness.

The whole thing is so ridiculously out of proportion that I can't get beyond just shaking my head and pondering what the world has become. Which doesn't really help much, because then images from the movie "Idiocracy" start running through my mind...

Yea, idiocracy is more and more an emerging reality :/

That is a Nelson Mandela quote, 'you can learn a lot about society by going through its prisons'

Thanks for the source ;)
