The Full Moon in Leo Opposing the Aquarius Sun 2018

versus the need for independence and freedom
Despite the winter season, the Full Moon in Leo brings a warm, playful, charismatic energy that wants to be noticed ... one that will make an effort to satisfy this yen. Metaphorically, it's time to assess your personal talents and compare them to your long-term goals. The inner, emotional part of you wants applause, attention, and plenty of cheering from the assembled throngs -- for the deeply generous, highly visible, flamboyant character you can be ... when you try.
Another part of you wants to kick over the traces and do something wild, something different, something totally independent and oh-so-unique. It's an eccentric, explosive energy that just waits for the slightest spark to detonate in either a totally off-the-wall adventure ... or a deafening display of emotional fireworks. It's a time for you to ask yourself seriously ... just what does it mean to you to "be yourself" ... and what are you willing to do (what cost are you willing to pay) to reach that happy place?

This is not a combination made for self-control. There's too much of "the Devil may care" mixed into both these signs -- and when they stress one another, bizarre decisions, impulsive moves, and a capricious, unstable state of mind can cause enough problems to send the Devil running for cover ... just to get out of the line of fire.
The best advice for the moment is to be careful what you say ... and even more careful what you do. Your impulses may seem, in fantasy, like great ideas for plenty of reasons ... but when the dust settles you could wind up wishing you'd used a little more common sense, a little more restraint, a bit of "count to ten."
Frankly, such things are in awfully short supply now. It is possible to have fun, be yourself, and not "lose it completely over the next few weeks. Keep reminding yourself of this ... if you find that simple fact slipping away.

This particular Full Moon formed last night as a lunar eclipse. You may have heard some stir about it on the news. Ordinarily I don't give this much notice. I'm not convinced eclipses are all that special except for the added time their issues hang around.
Ok, granted, that itself may be big news in your world, especially if the degrees of this Full Moon activate points in your Natal Chart. For example, this 11° Leo Moon sits right on top of my 11° Pluto in my 8th House (of destruction and renewal) ... and I have been dealing with sad themes of death in my life for several weeks now -- to the point that I'm starting to be scared to wake up in the morning (until I consider the alternative.) This chart says that may not change any time soon.
Some of this may also have special relevance to you. Some of it may be interesting only to astrologers and astrology students. Some may not cause much of a ripple. But I'll talk about it all in some upcoming issues. I know it helps when you can relate these greater themes to things happening in your real life -- even when it's not altogether happy. So stay tuned.
If this Lunar Eclipse event lives up to its hype, its message bears some serious reflection. Clearly "normal life" is changing in many ways for all of us. Along with the upsets, the pieces of extra help we can look to and count on are just as important. A couple of added sessions can help us figure it out.

Wherever this opposition falls in your Natal Chart you will look for fun, attention, and plenty of self-promotion moments in the affairs of life ruled by the house that holds the transiting Moon.
And you'll be tempted to declare your independence, break all the rules that annoy you, and really let your rebellious eccentric self out of the attic to enjoy a howling good time in the affairs of life ruled by the house that holds the transiting Sun. The kind of "attention" those impulses could generate ... could redefine the term for you!!
There is astrological information to be found at moments like these from almost any birth data, although the more general the input, the more general the advice will also be. Want to know where "ego issues" are at work in your personality -- activated now by this Full Moon energy? And want to know where you need more freedom in your life ... which is also a theme at work now?
I can give you some quick pointers based on just your birthday. No need for birth time or even year or place for this. Upvote this post (That's the cost of your reading!) ... and leave me your birthday in comments. Discover what astrology's wisdom says is happening now for you.

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.
Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.
Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

I'm a Leo and I never read anythinf like this before. I mean the relation of the moon, eclipse and horosscope. I'm not really into this kind of thing but reading this post make me wonder and asking some question about myself.... nice one, I enjoyed reading it :)
This was seriously one of the most fun blog posts I've read. Period. So well written! This bit is the story of my life: "It's a time for you to ask yourself seriously ... just what does it mean to you to "be yourself" ... and what are you willing to do (what cost are you willing to pay) to reach that happy place?"
And the bit about wishing I'd counted to 10. Yeah.
So, this Gemini is curious. May 28. Go! (And thank you in advance.)
Yay! I loved this so much .. especially because .. well ... you know ... Leo!!
I'm so sorry to hear about "death", and I will send good energy your way for strength and peace. Blessings to you my dearest Enchanted.
August 4 was the Big Day! Woop. Tell me whatcha got ... :)
The photos are fantastic and the entire message was amazing. I <3 your writing and your telling was beautifully said, formatted, and super informative. xx
Very insightful as always. My birthdate is 10/19/1983. I would be very interested to hear what this full moon means for me astrologically. My lady and I saw a 360 degree rainbow around the super moon from the light coming through the cloud cover. It was dazzling. I'm making a post with the pics now if you want to check it out. Thanks!
Hey, @daodesam ---> you're just the man I want to see. I'm trying to find a recent post from you I can upvote as compensation for including your post in my Inbox recently. But there's nothing on there that's eligible for some extra sugar.
Do me a favor ... post something, ok? (My business motto: When people are standing in line to give you money, don't make it hard. You can have that sage advice for free.)
Srsly. Get me something to vote on. It's costing you cash if you don't.
