Auction Finds - Collectible Cigarette Cards
I recently listed this large lot of cigarette cards we found at an auction. Back in the day these collectible cards were included in packs of cigarettes and you could fill special albums that were made for them. The first thing I imagined was the amount of packs of cigarettes that were smoked to obtain all of them!
The cards are pretty tedious to list as they need some work to display for photographing. They also need to be sorted and counted. I listed them at R1 ($0,08) a card, but in joblots, according to the (numerous!) photo's below. I thought one lot in particular would do well. Can you guess which lot it was? It hasn't received any bids yet, but another lot is proving very desirable, with many bids, and can you guess which lot that is? hahaha!!! Enjoy browsing!

I liked the horse ones but I bet the rugby ones are the most popular :)
Hahahaha, and we have a winner!
hehe as soon as I saw the rugby ball I knew :)
Like it my senior friend in steemit..
This is very beautiful..
So many cards! So many categories! I like quite a few batches; the Gainsborough painting or art cards, places of interest, people of the empire.
These cards must have taken quite a lot of time in laying out for photographing. But this is such a lot of fun too!
I'm not surprised those are the cards you like, but they are not the most popular ones!
Wow There are a lot of them, they look very interesting :(
There were a lot, it was hours work. Not sure if it was worth it!
I like the plant ones!!
So many were made I guess they were very popular then too, but are now the least collectible.
Unless you are into herbalism, I guess.
