AV1 Codec 'Frozen'

Let's listen to what Timothy Terryberry has to say. He has done the biggest work on the Daala Codec that is the base for this new video codec.

Hardware will become available somewhere in 2020. Interesting to know if you decide to buy a new videocard or TV-set or monitor. Maybe it's better to wait 2 years until AV1 is supported by all the manufacturers.
