"Ant-Man and The Wasp": a funny comedy from Marvel about insect superheroes that will allow you to relax after the dramatic «The Avengers»

The film Marvel "Ant-Man and The Wasp", filmed by Peyton Reed - the director of the first part of the adventures of the ant-man. The new picture came out more relaxed, funnier and more dynamic than the first. Beware, in the text there are spoilers of the film "Avengers: Infinity War".

The very phrase "Ant-Man"is far from the Marvel universe, for some reason, viewers like to use as a weighty argument: they were completely crazy there, not even to mice, but to ants! Meanwhile, the second film about the Ant-Man is a conscious gesture of the studio, an antidote for giant-style flagship projects. The choice of such a hero is a clear indication of the irony and almost parody inherent in the plot matrix.

After the third series of "The Avengers" - it is time to remove the embargo on spoilers and recognize that most of the main characters were erased in fine dust - the fans came to their senses for a long time. The shock was no less than from the Red Wedding at Game of Thrones. Marvel, coolly meeting the charges of mass murder, acted according to the plan: the next in line was a detox film - the second Ant-Man.

The main reaction of the public on viewing will be silly, but sincere laughter - there are enough of gags, and witty dialogues, and idiotic situations. Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), one of the most natural artists of modern Hollywood, is terribly funny and charming - it is not for nothing that he began his career in the TV series Friends and then became a regular actor in comedies Judd Apatow. The majestic Michael Douglas and Laurence Fishburne in the roles of insane genius scientists are also homely cute, and Michael Peña - partner and friend of the main character - gives out one of the best comic performances in his career. For the female to become (in accordance with the latest trends of the heroine here is more courageous than the heroes), two actresses are at once answering: Evangeline Lilly and the spectacular serial actress Hannah John-Kamen, who played the role of the anti-heroine nicknamed "The Ghost". On the other hand, there are no real villains at all. In addition, no one dies. More precisely, almost no one: but there is a danger of a spoiler, let us bite the tongue.

However, the plot of "Ant-Man and The Wasp" spoil spoiler is extremely difficult. He is comfortingly predictable and will be delighted with surprises only by those who have not watched the previous part and are only acquainted with the characters. The former swindler, and now disguised by the micro-hero Scott Lang, is serving a short and fearless punishment for breaking the law - he is under house arrest, where he calmly talks with friends and brings up his daughter who adores him on weekends. His more disciplined partner Hope, from now on - not just a beauty, but a superheroine wasp, is preparing, together with her father, Dr. Pym, to extract from her interatomic space her mother who had sunk there many years ago (in her role as Michelle Pfeiffer). Of course, without the help of Scott cannot do. Of course, on the scene there will be attackers who prey on Dr. Pym's advanced designs and reducing costumes created by him.

It is incredibly pleasant to realize that Scott and Hope have no task to save the universe. The ant is only interested in contact with her daughter, wasp is tormented by longing for her mother, besides and both with some difficulty get used to the idea that they are cute to each other. Even the scoundrels in this film are carrying plans that lack special ambition. Not the greatest director - and Peyton Reed, who put after the first "Ant-Man" the second part. He is an ordinary honest American comedy man, who (like his hero) was lucky to be in the right place at the right moment: when the studio terminated the contract with the ruffled and independent Briton Edgar Wright, Reed took and accepted the reins of government. It turned out very good for the first time. In addition, for the second - much better. Yes, "Ant-Man and The Wasp" is more relaxed, funnier and more dynamic than the first chapter. Perhaps because Reed made it as a film from the start.

If there is an idea in the second Ant-Man, besides talking about eternal family values and entertainment of the audience, then it is connected with the relative scale. Swifted playing with size ratios, Reed then stuns unlucky criminals with giant saltshakers or candies, then squeezes a skyscraper to the size of a modest suitcase. One hero rides a truck like a skateboard, the other runs along the blade of a knife flying through the air. There are many similar attractions in the film, and each of them turns the audience into a horde of children who got into the fair pavilion "The Giant’s House". Moreover, many will be sent to childhood inevitable memories of the cinema of the 1980s. It does not refer to the technological mastery of cinematographers (it is at the height), but the simple intonation of the picture - something in the spirit of "Innerspace" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids".

"Size does matter" - probably, many have forgotten which movie this catchy slogan came from, but the formula itself was memorized. Well, I must admit, any size - whether you are a Godzilla or an Ant - has its own charm.
