Back from Steem Fest | Embarrassing moments

After creating the #roadtosteemfest, @anomadsoul is now starting a #backfromsteemfest initiative to document our experiences. He created a list of topics, but I am just going to talk about the embarrassing moments during Steemfest3.

Embarrassing Moment #1 - especially for J.

For J: During the closing dinner at The Salt Mine, I sat next to a very nice couple and we started to have a little chat. After knowing that I love Japan, this gentleman started showing me photos of his last trip to Japan on his phone.

We had an enjoyable time browsing through all the beautiful shots and reminiscing the various locations.

Then, I remembered I should scan his QR code to 'connect'. As I asked for his QR code, I noticed the guy opposite us looking a little shocked. I scanned the gentleman's QR code with the Steemfest app and said to myself "gan..dalf? Ok". The guy opposite us was laughing at this time.

It was only after the dinner that R briefed me 'the gentleman' and 'the guy' were two of the biggest names on Steemit. They are @gtg and @blocktrades.

Apparently, 'the guy' must be very amused by my ignorance for not knowing that 'the gentleman' is the number 1 witness. I even asked R at the table "what is a witness?"....omg! I think I need to brush up on my Steem knowledge...

Embarrassing Moment #2

After the lunch on Day 1, we slipped out of the conference and went to a shopping mall at the city center for some shopping. We thought dinner was standing buffet style like lunch and went a little later... We were in total shock when we arrived and saw the sit-down long table arrangement and everyone already finishing up their main course! Omg...

We were too embarrassed to ask further and decided to just leave and get our own dinner. We had pizza and pasta at a nearby restaurant. The next day, everyone was complimented on the nice dinner, which we totally regretted missing it!

Overall Experience

Steemfest presents the opportunity for us to meet and speak to steemians from all over the world. We learnt about the current state of Dapps and meeting people from different community and learning about their passion in making Steem a better platform.

Meeting virtual friends in real life create even stronger friendship bonds and we are glad to have made the decision to attend this event.
