IamChijamz and i an a Nigerian Content Creator, i began my blogging journey on steemit 29th January, 2018. it has been a year plus of gathering experiences. I joined steemit from an @euronation recruitment programme December 2017, when 1 STEEM was about #4,000 of my local currency, at that time, the entire platform seemed too good to be true.

reluctantly, i joined and made my first post, at that time i earned $14 from my introductory post, and i was like "hell, Yeah!" inside my mind, i had already calculated how i was going to be having my own house, sets of cars and building a family with the finance i will obtain from steemit, even if it means posting 20 times daily, forgive the ignorance of a newbie, but some of us at one point or another had the same ideology.

The following days taught me a great lesson as i posted and posted and posted amazing articles, and they all turned up to be a $0.00 post, it was really heartbreaking, so i turned to my predecessors and began to ask questions, i decided to find out the ropes and if i could learn one or two shortcuts to success on steemit, i was told that

consistency is the key to Greatness

I carried that Word like My Mantra and over the course of 4 months i consistently wrote 3 articles every week even with my $0.01 rewards, i kept at it, this time was the beginning of the bear market and as they had already told us, we should be expecting a down turn in the cryptocurrency market after the high trend of bitcoin in 2017.

i wanted to know everything i can to ensure my success, so i took several marathon classes about cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, mining, content creation, at a point, i even considered becoming a steemit witness!, i just wanted to find the secret of this ecosystem

i did several things, joined so many groups and platforms, made so many friends, and had my fair share of foes for that matter, the likes of @originalworks helped me develop my writing skills,i started designing for SIN2 Event, i joined several contests, mostly writing contests and design contests by Dimimp, Dan, and others.
Pete came along and exponentially changed my steemit story, one particular article i got to write because of my partnership and relationship with him made $165, My Highest so far!

The Truth...i learnt it very late

The one very special lesson i have learnt in this ecosystem is something that has helped me shape my personality overtime, over the course of 1 year, i have been able to learn several things, but this particular lesson has stuck to me. i guess it's the influence of the bear market, coupled with the fact that i wasn't really getting any tangible rewards on my blog articles. i came to find out that on steemit and every other platform, there is one truth that people tend to neglect, and that truth is that

Relationship Matters

Relationship Matters

It is not just about writing and posting and commenting and upvoting, there is a part of everyone that wants to know if you really care about them, there is an adage that says

People won't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.

I have learnt my lessons, so i decided to become a major participant in the ecosystem and try as much as i can within my power to interact, share ideas, build relationships and show care and love to other people, it has not been an easy feat but i guess we have to stick to it, for two reasons,

  1. it is a universal rule. We all become part of a community sharing one goal and that is achieved by effective relationships
  2. Communication skills is one intangible value that can create more opportunities for everyone.

I do hope you learn my lessons too, reach out to somebody today, you might be their only hope to smile.
