Steem Basic Income - Program Announcements
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Delegation Bonus Shares Increased
After closely reviewing the impact that bonus shares from delegation have on our program, we have decided to increase the bonus shares that members receive for delegation!
Existing members can receive bonus shares from delegation. For every 20 SP delegated to @steembasicincome, members will receive 1 bonus share. These bonus shares will be removed if the delegation is withdrawn. Currently each share in pool 1 receives a weekly voting weight of roughly 2.37%.

Any Steemian that is already enrolled in @steembasicincome can delegate as much as they would like, to receive bonus shares. If you are not already a member but would like to delegate, please send an enrollment transaction to @steembasicincome and we will add your bonus shares at the time we process your enrollment.

@steembasicincome after becoming a member, is there a way for me to sponsor more people? For example send an extra 1 SBD and nominate two members?
You can continue sponsoring as many people as you have the STEEM for. Each time it is 1 STEEM for each person you sponsor. For each 1 STEEM, both you and the person you sponsor will receive 1 share.

They will be included in today's batch. We're going on the honor system (that followers will continue to follow and not detach as soon as they get their shares). If that proves to be misguided, we will assign bonus shares to members for the duration of their follow, instead.

Hey @josephsavage -- I just checked my steemauto settings -- seems like I had it set to 70% min VP for voting power. I've changed it to 60%. I should be participating in the trail now. Sorry for the kerfuffle.

I wasn't sure, be when I enroll yesterday sending 1 Steem, both me and my friend got enrolled?
What is the value for SBI to give a 2 for 1 deal?

The main reason is to keep SBI structured as a program that you use to support other content creators that you believe in. It also helps the word-of-mouth spread more quickly and encourages people to give SBI shares as contest prizes (since you get shares when you sponsor others).
As a social experiment, we would like to bring a sustainable basic income to everyone on Steem.
That a noble goal, will see how it goes over time ;)

We have a banner that was designed for our profile, but not one that was designed for use in posts. You're welcome to use our logo in your posts. it's the giant image from this post, but you're welcome to resize it as necessary.

Hi! I joined Steemauto and joined the Daily Sneak Curation Trail on 2/27. I just found out that it totally drained my voting power so I am going to disable this. So, please remove my 1-SBI share. Thank you!

Are you sure? I will certainly understand if it is removed. I LOVE SBI and after I get my slide bar (which will hopefully be soon), I am going to sponsor people like crazy. And delegate when I can in the future. Thanks so much...for everything! : )

Bonus shares, yes! The difference between those and regular shares is that regular shares are forever. Bonus shares last for as long as the delegation is in effect.

The key thing to know is the enrollment process:
Send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a steemian you would like to support in the transaction memo. Both of you will receive upvotes on your future posts from one of the program accounts.

You receive weekly voting weight based on the number of shares that you have, so increasing your shares will increase the value of upvotes that you receive.
