Regular workouts are not only a confidence boost that will make you more satisfied with your appearance, but your health also benefits greatly from them. So, spending extra time in the gym is basically an investment in the quality of your life.

However, a significant percentage of people who are working hard to bring their body to perfection don’t balance their nutrition with their workouts. Considering the fact that your muscle fibers are being torn on a microscopic level every time you work out, you need to take a better care of them.

A modern woman doesn’t have enough time to sit around and wait for her body to heal – that is why every gym girl needs to know about benefits of BCAAs.

What are BCAAs?

Your muscles go through a lot of pressure each time you work out. I’m sure you’ve had issues with sore muscles before – it is a result of muscle tissue being ripped apart. This process needs to occur because after this your muscles are repaired, and grow bigger and stronger, which makes your figure more attractive.

However, for your muscles to recover and repair, they need access to leucine, isoleucine, and valine – also known as the basic three types of branched-chain amino acids.

Benefits of BCAAs

Thanks to the fact that branched-chain amino acids are rich in nutrients, they are very helpful when it comes to several points. First of all, you no longer have to be annoyed because your energy levels are low after workouts – BCAAs are the perfect pick-me-up after workout sessions.

Not only will they help your body heal faster, but BCAAs also encourage muscle growth and reduce muscle soreness, so you’ll be ready go back to your responsibilities right after your workout. You should also know that leucine helps with burning calories and that it can also help you control your eating urges – research has shown that it helps make you feel full.

How Much Is Enough?

BCAAs aren’t necessary for every workout. However, after more intense ones where you’ve really outdone yourself, you should definitely treat your muscles – they deserve an award. The amount of BCAAs recommended for women isn’t precise, because it all depends on your size.

However, a woman of average build should take around five grams, the amount that can be found in about one hundred grams of chicken breasts, canned tuna, trout or three eggs, for example.

Food or Supplements?

If meat isn’t usually found on your dining table because it’s not a part of your nutrition, or perhaps because you don’t like how it tastes, you can turn to alternative options such as brown rice, peanuts or almonds. And if you’re a woman on the go, going with supplements is probably the best option for you as you don’t need more than a minute to prepare your gym drink.

Your nutrition needs to match your lifestyle – if you want to achieve all your goals, you need enough energy to take you through your day. Therefore, make sure that your muscles are properly taken care of and that you introduce a healthy dose of BCAAs to your life.
