When Snow Brings Joy for Some and Struggle for Others
No doubt, there is a lot of amusement and excitement among the people after the snowfall. It has actually been precipitation after a very long time. But at this time, while it may be a pleasing moment for many of us, it can also be a hard time for others. In such times, we must always make sure that we take care of those who are in dire need and have no resources or helping hand to support themselves in such harsh conditions.
I have seen many people who hardly get any opportunity to earn their livelihood or who have very limited resources to survive. We, as humans, need to take responsibility and help our community and society survive such times. No doubt, it brings life and a lot of hope for the upcoming production year, but it also comes with hardships for poor and destitute people. We are human beings, and being responsible citizens, we need to take care of all this by contributing towards helping them survive. Each one of us, at a micro level, must take care of our neighbours who might not have much to survive on.
No doubt, there may be some well-off families living around us, but still, some people are so poor that they may not even have anything to eat. I came across such people just a few days ago. It was an emotional time for me because I couldn’t hold back my tears when I heard their story, and I could feel that life is not luxurious for everyone; sometimes it is a very tough task just to survive.
Not only do we need to take care of people, but also animals and birds who are very much dependent on humans. For example, birds usually survive on the grains they get from open lands, but now, with snow covered all around, they are highly dependent on humans and survive only on the grains that we provide. For this reason, again, care must be shown with compassion by offering grains to birds and food to stray dogs and cats as well. They need our helping hand and are very much dependent on us, at least during these days, and we need to take care of them.
No doubt, you may not get anything materialistic in return, but there will be huge returns, and karma will always be kind. I believe in these things, and I believe that if we help others more—especially birds and animals who have nothing else to depend upon except humans in such harsh conditions—it will bring huge returns for us, not just here, but hereafter as well.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
