Kushtia Municipality, Kushtia.

Today I will review Kushtia Municipality and try to share details about it with you. Kushtia Municipality is located in Kushtia district, it also has a Municipal Museum. Kushtia Municipality was established in 1869, it was previously the house of Satish Sahar, the landlord. Which has been used as the Municipality building since 1965. The Municipality Museum has taken the responsibility of collecting and preserving the historical materials of Kushtia.

Kushtia Municipality

Kushtia Municipality is located in the southwestern part of Bangladesh, south of the Padma River. It is the largest municipality in Kushtia District. Kushtia Municipality is divided into 21 wards and serves as the local government unit of Sadar Upazila of Kushtia District. It is located along the main road and is open from 10 am to 5 pm to provide public services.

The sculpture commemorates the joy of victory

The royal decoration of Kushtia Municipality will captivate you. When you cross the main road and enter the Kushtia Municipality, you will see two pillars on the entrance road where there are sculptures of National Kazi Nazrul Islam and World Poet Rabindranath Tagore. When you cross the main entrance road, you will see a sculpture named Bijoy Ullas. The sculpture depicts the situation during the Liberation War, besides, in memory of the Baul Emperor of Kushtia, Lalon Shah, the sculpture depicts the image of a Baul with a single hand.

Flower plants

The flag of Bangladesh has been hoisted in front of the building. The Kushtia Municipality is surrounded by green trees. There are various species of trees around the building which surround the entire municipality building with greenery. The environment here is very clean and developed. Sometimes in the afternoon, common people can be seen entering to enjoy some moments in the fresh air.The area around the municipality is decorated with colorful flowers.

The officials are always on duty to provide services to the public. The services of Kushtia Municipality are citizenship certificate, inheritance certificate, monthly/annual income certificate, character certificate, municipal tax assessment, shop rent, etc. There is a women's corner to provide special services to women where women receive services during maternity, pregnancy, child allowance, etc. They charge a fixed service fee for providing each service. Since Kushtia Municipality is the largest municipality in Kushtia district, there are various facilities here. There is an auditorium, there are various types of flowering plants around the auditorium. Moreover, the entire municipality area is controlled by CCTV cameras. There is no restriction on public movement here. Every year, a municipal fair is held in Kushtia Municipality. Where various festivals are organized.Kushtia Municipality has designated parking spaces.

Various types of rural sculptures have been carved on the outer walls of the municipality. The sculptures depict rural scenes, depicting traditional rural activities such as village women threshing paddy in a dheki, threshing grain, and farmers walking along the village paths with plows and cows on their shoulders. These works of art symbolize the cultural heritage of this region, its simple, traditional way of life.

The environment inside Kushtia Municipality is very beautiful and enjoyable. The public can enter here to enjoy the pleasant environment inside. Kushtia Municipality is spread over a vast area, in between there are numerous century-old trees that carry tradition. There is a pond surrounded by green plants. Many people come to sit on the banks of this pond to enjoy the beauty of nature. Kushtia Municipality carries a historical identity, so it is very proud for the residents of Kushtia.
