Family and beach time these holidays.
Christmas is always a mixed season for me. It's quiet and busy at the same time.
This year was no different.
One of the gatherings we look forward to is the Boxing Day celebration with Hubby's cousins. Not having a particularly close or big family myself, this yearly event was always loud and joyful, with food, alcohol and presents a plenty - more so now that everyone has a baby.
The location changes every year. Last year it was at one of the cousins house, this year at Uncle Vince's. Next year will be at our house.
Uncle Vince lives a short 1 minute walk to the beach.
The morning after Boxing Day, when there's only a few people left behind and one can't piece together the night's events..... Boy, was I glad I could retreat to the sea and straighten myself up.
I don't really know how to swim but that's never stopped me from loving the water.
There's something about the water.
The ocean fills me with peace and fear at the same time. I see it's power, it's ability to transform, create and destroy. It truly deserves our respect.
One of the things I love about the ocean is how it eases my troubles and smog from my aura.
Here's me doing one of my favourite things.
If Earthing is the process where one connects to the Earth with their bare feet. Can this then be called Beaching?
One of my other favourite things is collecting sea shells.
Over the years I have come from this beach with a bucket full of sand and shells, both to be used for the Orgonites. But I have never seen anything like this before.
Stunning colours that leapt out despite the cloudy conditions.
There's so much beauty in this place.
From the gently sloping sand mounds.
To the vibrant plants and grass that's perfectly scattered across it.
The distant views of the city.
The magnificence of the ocean.
An unexpected reminder that although our steps vary, we all walk the same planet.
If you can make it to the beach this summer do it especially if you are usually very busy. I find it to be more re-charging than anything else and feel loads better even though we didn't spend much time there.
While I was on break mode I took the time to smell the roses.
What did you guys get up to over the holidays? Do you feel recharged and ready for 2018?

I agree with everything mentioned because I do it all as well. :) I always wanted to live by the beach.
And that is a pretty shell you got there, Ms. @bearone!
Maybe it's an artist thing? 😚
I don't deny the water calls me as much as the mountains. I'd love to live by it one day too.
Thank you @olaivart ❤
Most probably! :* <3
Wow really amazing place.
Wow! Truly amazing pictures and I love the beach 😊 breathtaking and I just wish I was there seing this live. Does wonder for the soul.
Your really lucky 😉 amazing place to walk.
Thank you for sharing, made my day dear.
Take care of yourself and stay Awesome 🤗
Beautiful Clicks! I like this, Thanks for sharing such things @bearone
You're welcome!
Beautiful beach. I agree with you about the ocean I feel the same. I love collecting shells. Last year I found beautiful shells. Where is this beach.
@sylviamiller I can so see you with the kids collecting sea shells. This is at Wollongong 😊
Nope, I actually crashed for a fair few hours yesterday and today, making a monumental effort to do at least some steeming (and it's not a lot because I have ridiculous standards I wouldn't expect of anyone else but gods dammit I will meet them myself or die trying). Silly Season was awesome, but it was also just a different kind of frenetic activity and what I really need to do is stop XD
Uncle Vince looks like he lives in my kind of location! (as long as it's not surrounded by McMansions which most of the beachy areas around here are closer in to the cbd I have this possibly irrational hatred of McMansions XD)
Beach is exactly why I've chosen a house that we're going to go look at soon. Hopefully it looks as good in real life as it did in photos!
Speaking of photos, those are some beautiful shots you've taken :)
hahaha I was off my face all day 27th could have used a day long nanna nap.
Crashing was your body's way of going... Yeh, Nah, I'm done here. lol So I'm glad you crashed and got the rest you needed.
Nah no McMansions out there yet, which is one of the reasons we are thinking about buying a holiday house there... 2018 is around the corner, I'm dreaming big lol
This new house sounds amazing! Please take photos!
And I hope you're feeling much better today Ry xoxoxo
I may if we end up buying it, always feels kinda weird taking photos with the REA there XD
Good luck with the holiday house plans :D
