Peacock Pansy Butterfly
As I used to do in the late afternoon, I took a short walk to find something nice to be shot. To get this photo, I had to pass thru wetland, and the tall grass itself was bothering me so badly when I was trying to focus on the subject. So, I had to get rid of this problem if I wanted to have a good look at this butterfly. First things first, I had to wait for the calmness by making a careful step toward this winged insect, and ensuring there was no tall grass blocking my view. This time I would like to show you some recent pics of a pansy butterfly (Junonia almana). The day I found it, it was busy flying here and there over the wild plants. Luckily, I used a DSLR, so I was able to take these photos from a distance. This species is relatively common in Indonesia, and sometimes we can find this typical butterfly in the bush, pretty much around the flower garden. Any butterfly, including this kind, tends to visit tiny flowers growing in grassy areas and sunbathe with its wings fully open. The flight is rapid and typically done in a gliding fashion.
