Blackbarred Mantis (Mantis octospilota)

in Beauty of Creativityyesterday

The praying mantis itself is named for its prominent front legs, as you can see they bend and hold together at the angle of the praying position. I found this kind of praying mantis when I was hunting for the bee, it hid under the leaf. I carefully moved over and attempted to get a few shots. It was actually noticed by my friend, and we took turns taking its photos, as I believe, this is one of the unique mantis that I've ever seen. Blackbarred Mantis was always found hunting on the rough bark of the gum tree trunk, usually not moving, but runs very fast when disturbed. As it was moving, I had some troubles to get the detailed focus. Blackbarred Mantis (Mantis octospilota) is distributed along with other mantis species in temperate zones. Like other mantis species, the first pair of its legs is modified into a folded pair of arms that are used to catch the prey. Mostly inhabits the grasslands, meadows, agricultural fields, and woodlands, and is adjacent to rivers and streams.
