Simple People, Big Kindness: What I Saw in the Market 🌺

One day, I was in the market and noticed an elderly man selling popcorn. He was carefully sealing them into small packets and handing them out in bundles of 20 or 30. I thought his prices were very reasonable, especially because children in the market often insist on buying snacks when they see them.Curious, I went up to him and asked, “You work so hard why do you sell them at such low prices?”

He smiled and replied, Some children really want these, but their mothers can’t always afford them and say they are too expensive. So first, I observe the situation. If a child is crying a lot and the parents seem hesitant, I quietly lower the price to 30, 40, or 50. Otherwise, the actual price is 100. This way, the child can be happy, and the parents don’t feel burdened. His kindness and understanding truly touched my heart. It wasn’t just about selling popcorn it was about spreading happiness in small, meaningful ways.

Some people here are begging for money, although if they work, they can earn more with respect. I think that when a person has health, intelligence, and awareness, instead of doing such work, they can earn a good amount by doing even a small job somewhere. Here, I saw another person who seemed to be a man. His mental condition did not seem right to me, but he was still earning his living without any money.

Instead of begging from them, small children who had come with their mothers were also taking balloons from them. When one or two children took balloons from them at once, they became even happier. Some even gave them more money for the balloons. Apart from the price of the balloons, their happiness is also worth seeing. I was so happy to see them because I had gone to the market with extra money so that I could help these people. I gave them all something or the other.

There was also a young child in the market carrying a small cooler filled with ice and juice boxes. After walking around for a while, he would gently place the cooler down and sit for a moment to rest because he would get tired. Even then, people continued to come to him and buy juice.

What touched me the most was the kindness of the people around him. Many of them didn’t just pay the price they gave him a little extra money, seeing how hard he was working at such a young age. It made me feel happy to see that humanity is still alive, that people notice effort and respond with kindness.

That day in the market showed me something beautiful. On one side, there was an elderly man lowering his prices just to make children smile, and on the other side, people were supporting a small child by giving more than required. These small acts may seem simple, but they carry so much warmth. They remind us that even in busy markets, there is still compassion, understanding, and a shared sense of care for one another.

At last I am inviting @suboohi , @max-pro ,@ahsansharif, @safdarali and @sadaf02 for taking part in this contest.
