Journey to Clear Skin (Part 5): Acne Face MapsteemCreated with Sketch.

It's been awhile since I last posted the part 4 of this series. If you're interested, I added the links of all parts below in case you missed or forgot about them.

I stumbled across the Acne Face Map about 4 years ago on Skinacea blog. I was pretty convinced that your skin reflects your internal health. According to traditional Chinese doctors: a weakness in a certain organ in your body can cause acnes popping up in certain areas of your face. Thus, with this theory, we can analyze where our acnes are coming from and prevent them from forming.

Please remember that this is just a guideline and may not apply to everyone. There are many other factors that are responsible for breakouts so, just use this theory as a starting point to gain ideas on how to clear your skin.

Let's start our detective work!

Forehead

Acnes on your forehead may indicate that you are having a hard time digesting certain food or you had too much sugary food. So, drink less soda and more water to flush out toxins. Moreover, it could also be caused by irregular sleep schedule, stress, and too much worrying. Thus, go to bed early and wake up early. Just relax and your skin will improve.

Otherwise, cut your bangs, change your shampoo/conditioner and wash your caps/hats because these things could be the ones irritating your skin.

Temples

If you have acne on your temples, it may indicate that you have poor lymphatic circulation and some gallbladder issues. It may also point out that you intake too much fat and processed food. Therefore, eat more healthy food and less processed and fast food.

Between Brows

Acnes in this area may indicate that you have weak heart and that you drank too much alcohol and smoked too much cigarette. Thus, try to drink and smoke less and exercise more while getting more sleep.

Nose

Acnes on your nose will tell you that you have poor diet and you may even be constipated and have indigestion. It is advised that you eat less meat, salt and pungent food. Try to eat warm food as well, it will be better for your stomach. In addition, make sure you get enough vitamin B.

Left Cheek

If you have acne on your left cheek, it could mean that you are overeating and may have liver problems. Make sure you are sleeping between 1-3 am because this is the time when your liver is the strongest. Otherwise, clean your cellphone and makeup brushes regularly and change your pillowcase.

If you have acne on your lower left cheek, it may indicate poor dental health. Thus, brush your teeth and floss regularly.

Right Cheek

Acnes on your right cheek may indicate that you have weak lungs. So, try to get more fresh air and do some aerobic exercises. Best time to exercise is between 7-9 am when your lung is the strongest. Moreover, acnes in this area may also point out that you intake too much sugar. Thus, eat less sugar and avoid fast food.

Once again, clean your cellphone and makeup brushes regularly and change your pillowcase.

Lip Area

If you have acne in this area, it may mean that you are constipated or you eat too much spicy and fried food. Therefore, eat more fiber, fruits and vegetables and less spicy and fried food. You can also change your toothpaste as it may be the one irritating your skin.

Chin & Jaw

Acnes in this area may indicate that you have hormonal problems. It is advised to intake omega-3 to help regulate hormones. You should also get more rest and make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep every night.

You should also stop resting your face on your hand because it may be already irritating your skin.

If you've read through my post above, thank you! And you may have noticed some patterns and repetitions in causes and suggestions to cure your acne. Indeed, it's all about better diet and better lifestyle.

If you eat healthier, exercise more and sleep better, you can expect clearer skin!

Once again, remember that this is just a guideline and may not apply to everyone's skin. What works for me may not always work for you.

That's why I'm trying to stick to healthier habits like eating more veggies and fruits, no more softdrinks, at least half an hour exercise everyday, change pillowcase every night, wake up early, etc. As a result, I have less stress in life and my skin is way better than a couple of months ago, although it's not perfect yet but I'm getting there.

Hopefully, you'll find this post helpful.
