I had a nice IPA the other day... I was surprised by the fact that my wife also liked it... I do find them quite a bit more refreshing and I definitely prefer them over the dark ales. This one I haven't seen before, I will definitely keep a look out for it the next time that I visit the bottle shop...
I also prefer IPAs over dark ales. Dark beers are just too filling for me, but I do like them on rare occasions. The darkest I usually go for these days are reds or ambers. For a while I was even into wheat beers, however, I dropped that habit.
Next time, I'll have to feed some to my wife and see what she thinks. She isn't much of a beer drinker either, but I do give her the nicer ones to try sometimes.
I LOVE red ales... I had a great Mexican one last year at a Mexican restaurant... and there is an Irish one that I keep buying... when I was a student, the local pub brewed their own, and that is where I got hooked!
I haven't found any good ones on tap near me. Still looking.
