Natural Population Decrease - The Lightweight Edition - Inspiring Videos Insight

in #beinspired9 years ago

While we are talking about how to manage the world population explosion that we are expecting in coming decades, in many countries the population is decreasing in terms of number of babies born versus the number of people passing away. In Europe we are facing natural population decline since 2015; 5.2 million people passing away versus 5.1 million babies born.

Interesting facts that we can debate with a very serious tone, but today I want to bring your attention to the fun part of this topic. We want to go with a happy face and feeling into our weekend :)

Europe will have to adapt to less young people, but Africa is still growing. It may slow over time, but the demographics are shifting.

Agree, on world scale the population is increasing, but even in Africa more and more countries see a decrease in birthrate. Europe has to rely on immigration to be able to afford the state pensions to the increasing group of elderly people and the decreasing number of working people. Robotica and automation will also be of help to support productivity with less working people though.

It's something we have to adapt to. It's not viable to have the population just keep on growing.

Agree! When at some point we are able to download our brains/consciousness and/or we can live for 300+ years in our own biological body and/or we have the possibility to create androids, we have to stop creating new babies anyway :)

That's a little extreme, but automation and allowing active older people to keep contributing to society will help the transition. It's amazing that some people have seen the world population triple in their lifetimes

Technology is doing this: Wars with much less casualties; Longer life; Control of epidemics and so on. And technology will do a lot more to further grow the world population :)
