Weekly review from Ireland

in #belfast7 years ago

It's been a pretty hectic week for me and already i'm grtting excited at this very special time of the year. Monday was an extra long weekend for me on the farm with my friendly flock of sheep. Then back to the city for a pizza in Little Wing bangor.

On Tuesday evening I attended a seminar at the Ulster University exploring the export opportunities for agri-food businesses in Northern Ireland.

Wednesday night i visited the amazing Twilight Market which I'd conceived a number of years ago. So delight to see it's a regular fixture in Belfast's food and drink calendar. The market sjowcases the best food and drink and includes chef demos and local live music. There was a fantastic atmosphere!

Thursday evening i went to a really interesting lecture from MA students at Queen's uni who were presenying their resears studies on arts management and policy.

I then headed to the Mac theatre to see Becketts Women which covered extracts of four of Beckett's most iconic plays. The cast of 4 delivered an intense and powetful production directed by a personal friend of the playwright.

Friday included lunch at ine of my fav restaurants in the city Coco. eith it's truly opulent interior featuring Trevor Brown art.
Later we headed to Holywood for anoth Little Wing pizza.

Saturday was a relaxed morning followed by a late lynch in the new Bull and Ram restaurant near Queen's Uni. While it is a carnivores heaven, i was more than happy with the choice of oysters and gnocchi,

Saturday was rounded off with a visit to the lovely and cosy Bushmills Inn, perfect for a cold and blustery dark November night!
