So I'm interested in doing this - what's the best way to get 100SBD... will it take 3 months if I try to power down some of my SP?

Is it better to buy on an exchange and transfer to myself?

    ye power down take 3 months, faster is to use exchanger or u can invest steem power ( delegate without powering down to minnowbooster, but they pay 18% and here is 45% )
