DO NOT HAVE A FRIENDLY SILUET
In getting the perfect silhouette, you should pay attention to other silhouettes produced by the background / background and the foreground that surrounds the object. You should try to keep them from bumping into each other. If some objects collide or overlap, then the silhouette will fail, because of its less than the maximum. The example below shows the silhouette of 2 people who collide with the horizon line that is also in the shadow. Finally their body lines are less clear.
NOTE EXPOSURE
To get the perfect silhouette, of course we must achieve a perfect exposure. The best mode for us to use in backlit situations like this is in the M position or manual. In Auto position, usually the camera will be vulnerable wrong in deciding the right exposure due to the very bright light from the sun and also the dark shadow of the object. To understand how to use the manual mode in your camera, please check out this manual mode article. If you do not have much time to measure the lighting through manual mode, you can use the auto measurement techniques like this article.
