Swiss Scientists Grow Embryonic Tissue on a Chip

in #bioengineering7 years ago

Scientists from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) Institute of Bioengineering have developed an embryonic tissue chip. Researchers simulated aspects of embryo formation in vitro by creating a microfluidic device through which they can instruct stem cells to turn into specific cells. This device can mimic early stages of embryonic development.
