Magpie Foraging on the Grass

Magpies are a bird that can be spotted in Calgary year-round, as they are not known to be migratory. Their average lifespan is around 5 years, with some of the longest-lived ones surviving up to 10 years; they tend to mate frequently and can be seen either alone or with other groups of their kin.
