Today, 22nd May, I turned 24. I’m not entirely sure how to feel about it. This past year has been a significant turning point for me. It feels strange not having a family member at my birthday who's been there for the past 23 years. Life has a way of changing, often unexpectedly. While I know this is part of the journey, it still feels unsettling.

Reflecting on the past year, I realize how much I’ve grown and how much has changed. Sometimes, I feel like I've already lived more than half my life. Considering the hypertension and diabetes I’ve inherited from my parents, it's hard not to think about the future. I struggle to imagine myself crossing the 40-year mark. However, I refuse to let this be an excuse to not live my life to the fullest

Every year on my birthday, I look back at the past year's journey. As a travel enthusiast, I make myself a promise to visit new destinations in the coming year. In 2023, I ambitiously planned to explore five new places. However, life had other plans. Managing a dental clinic proved to be far more demanding than I had anticipated, leaving me with little personal time. Consequently, in 2023/24, I was only able to travel twice.

While I am grateful for those experiences, I can't help but feel that I have some catching up to do. Traveling enriches my life, providing me with fresh perspectives and a much-needed break from my professional responsibilities.

As I look forward to 2024, I am determined to balance my professional obligations with my passion for travel. I plan to be more strategic with my time, ensuring that I carve out opportunities to explore new places. This year, I hope to visit at least five destinations, rekindling my adventurous spirit and fulfilling my promise to myself.

How did I celebrate my birthday this year? Pretty much the same way I spend it every year. I was in my room, engrossed in preparing my Crypto Academy engagement challenge post, completely unaware of the time passing by. Suddenly, my phone rang. It was my best friend, calling to wish me a happy birthday. Her cheerful voice and warm wishes instantly lifted my spirits. As I was talking to her, my brothers quietly entered my room, each of them smiling and wishing me a happy birthday as well.

They had a surprise waiting for me as they had set up a table in the lounge with a beautifully decorated birthday cake, complete with candles and surrounded by a few thoughtfully chosen gifts. I was genuinely grateful by their effort and the love they showed.

For gifts, I received something I had been wanting for a long time: casual summer wear and a personal grooming kit. The summer clothes were perfect—comfortable, stylish, and exactly what I needed for the upcoming warm months

Keeping with our family tradition of taking everyone out to dinner on birthdays, I decided to treat my family to a meal at a newly opened fried chicken restaurant in town. My mom had been craving fried chicken for quite some time, as we usually opt for desi foods on birthdays. I thought a change in cuisine would be a delightful surprise for everyone, especially her.

The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a family gathering. Seeing the excitement on my mom’s face as she enjoyed the meal made the dinner even more special. The meal was filled with laughter, stories, and the joy of trying something different together. It's moments like this we cherish for a long period of time.

The dinner costed me 6,000 pkr that's around 80 steem. The meal was very tasty and choosing this restaurant for my birthday dinner turned out to be a good decision.
