Happiest birthday to my dearest sister, Sofia!

I believe I am a better person today because you've always been my staunchest support and voice of reason. This day is as important to me as it is with you; thank you, simply, for existing.

Sometimes, I get caught up with hating people and nitpicking their every flaw, yet you always remind me to love everyone when they are least lovable. I forget they have battles, too, (maybe even far worse than mine), so thank you for always prompting me.

You taught me that when my prayers don't get answered, it's not that God isn't listening. It's just because, maybe (which is oftentimes the case) I'm praying for the wrong things. When in doubt now, I start my prayers with "Dear God, correct me if my prayers are wrong." It's worked ever since.

Many times I get worked up with my own little world in the hospital, but you always remind me to take a step back and set the science-y stuff aside to make room for the other things I love-- music, literature, art, period dramas. Honestly, I think one of the reasons why I'm such an art and lifestyle snob now is because I have practically lived my entire life with a broadly talented and creative person. And for this day, I am owing it all to you.

One time too many, I get coward and spineless that even the slightest act and words can make me fickle. But with you, I am comforted with an assurance that come hell or high water, you will always have my back.

I am vastly and wildly in love with life because of all the things you've taught me. Because really, not all sisterly conversations revolve around dissecting Greek Mythology, a crash course on Business and Marketing, theories of Twin Flame, and the likes. People say I'm the smarter one, but between us, I think you've always been the gifted and the genius. :)
