But feel free to attack the writer rather than the message

Robinhood Crypto is heading east of the Mississippi River, and it "Feels Like Coming Home." Commission-free Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) trading is now rolled out and available to investors in Mississippi.

One Bitcoin transaction uses as much energy as a single U.S. household consumes in three weeks.

In total, Bitcoin now consumes about as much energy as Portugal.

And it’s about to get much, much worse than that.

No, by all means - let me painstakingly retype everything I said 2 months ago.

But feel free to attack the writer rather than the message.

wait, no. you said OP is “misrepresenting the energy usage” but then your thread doesn’t even make that claim. it just says that you feel like the energy usage is justifiable.

as was discussed in several articles I linked to in the thread, its impossible to measure actual energy usage of the bitcoin network and instead must be estimated. Problem is, newer Bitcoin miners use much less energy and produce a much higher hashrate than old ones.
