China bans ICOs
This morning I was listening to the Bitcoin and Markets podcast on Stitcher and heard that China was banning all investment and support of ICOs today. This is surely a huge shift for the world of cryptocurrency.
A google search today shows that this is in fact True. The things that the Chinese lawmakers are concerned about definitely are valid, and it seems that in seeing this it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. The world of cryptocurrency is very wild, and these are the first major signs that there has been enough influence on the world from the blockchain that the global powers and lawmakers are beginning to react to it and find ways to regulate it.
This is very important to note for ALL investors, because this is effecting the entire market. More importantly, however, it is effecting ICOs directly. If you are someone who does not have a lot of money to invest in Cryptocurrency, you probably have some money in a coin that is either an ICO or one that has been an ICO that is still a very young, traded platform. Either way, the future of altcoins will now be forever changed, and the blockchain in general is going to see a huge shift with this decision, and must certainly be aware and ready for the global markets and governments to react to and attempt to control cryptocurrency, as the developments, platforms, programs, and projects from the blockchain begin to integrate into every day life.
