Bitcoin! Bitcoin! Bitcoin!
So we all knew that it was going to pop, right? But now we are in this situation, where all the funds are going to bitcoin, and most alt coins are going no where, or going down. Take steem for example, bitcoin is almost 25% off the lows, but steem is at a 6 month low. Ethereum is still under 500, and can't seem to get going. 
Not only is Bitcoin going to kill its forks, I think it is going to kill a lot of alt coins. Money will flock to it, simply out of name recognition, and that the fact it is the most established, and o ya it has the most money behind it. So it makes sense why people will go to it. I just hope steem is not left in the dust with the others.
Who knows what lies around the next corner.... Bitcoin is rallying now for sure, but I expect some alt coins to start to get a little momentum now as well.. If you have shitcoins, get rid of course, but if you have shitcoins, chances are you don't know they're shitcoins... :o)
Bitcoin hikes today!
I think we all could see the writing on the wall over the last few weeks. Of course, I'm still very invested in Steem and hope it goes back up. But outside of that, I decided to bite the bullet on many of my other alts, take the loss, and sell back into Bitcoin. There are a handful I'm hanging onto, but bitcoin accumulation isn't a bad thing these days.
I agree, with the updates to bitcoin there really is not a reason for most of the other stuff.

Lightning definitely will give Bitcoin a push. Especially over Bitcoin Cash. Not sure about Litecoin, though. LTC might still find its niche as a fast-settled on-chain currency, but let's see.

It might take 2-3 weeks for the altcoins to catch-up with btc. Well this was the case in the past.

People will flock to the one they trust the most and at this point, it is and might always be Bitcoin. To be perfectly honest, there are a crapload of altcoins that deserve to be killed off. So much junk out there that has no purpose or functionality. I do believe that Steem, however, will survive and climb again. We may not see the epic heights of 7 months ago but I can see $5 in its future.
When does your crystal ball say this is going to happen? :)
