Trading & Hodling Bitcoin Is Great, But What Can I Buy With Bitcoin And Where?steemCreated with Sketch.

in #bitcoin9 years ago

I have spent a lot of time the past month doing research about cryptocurrency and just when I think my eyeballs can't take it and I am going to rip them out of their sockets, I realize that I have no idea where I can actually spend my Bitcoins. I learned where to trade them, where to save them, where to blog for them (Steemit shout out!) and beyond but I really had no idea where I could really spend them on stuff I wanted.

This realization came after taking with a friend about Bitcoin who had a lot of questions and one of them was "What can I actually buy with Bitcoin though?". "All kinds of stuff" I say, but then realize I can't name anything specific. I got my mustache a twirling and set to combing the internet for some of the best places to spend my hard earned Bitcoin.

Here is my list of top sites where you can buy things with Bitcoin. This is in NO way complete, but if you know a good source I don't have post it in the comments.

  1. Dell computers - I like to build my own, but I bet you could get a good deal on a high-end model when bitcoin is on the up! http://www.dell.com/bitcoin
  2. Newegg - This is everyone's fav place online to get computer parts and more and they take Bitcoin. http://www.newegg.com/bitcoin
  3. Microsoft - This one is a bit tricky, but you can exchange bitcoins to buy apps, games and more for Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox. account.microsoft.com
  4. Overstock - I have never used Overstock, but they do carry a crap ton of stuff even if their commercials are bad! https://www.overstock.com/bitcoin
  5. Purse.io - Matches buyers with gift card holders. The gift card holders purchase the item you choose for you in exchange for Bitcoin. I am going to try this out this week and will update here, but looks cool. Purse.io
  6. CryptoVPN - Cheap VPN company that accepts Bitcoin. I liked them so much I signed up as an affiliate. https://cryptovpn.me
  7. Cryptopia Marketplace - The popular crypto trading site has a little marketplace! There is not a ton on it for US based customers, but I thought it was an interesting feature of their platform. https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/MarketPlace
  8. BitronicTech Hosting - These guys have great packages and you can pay with Bitcoin! I have not tried them yet though, when I do I will update here. https://www.bitronictech.net
  9. Open Bazaar - This site goes both ways! You can buy things AND sell them on Open Bazzar for Bitcoin. Its a desktop p2p marketplace app with lots of upsides for buyers & sellers alike. https://www.openbazaar.org
  10. Spendabit - Ok, so this is more like a search engine for places that accept Bitcoin and more. It aggregates many of the sites listed above in a nice layout. https://spendabit.co
  11. Coinmap - Clean and simple! I actually added my web design business to this map today! Easy way to see businesses in your area that take Bitcoin. http://coinmap.org
  12. CoinATMRadar - This one is different and it finds you ATM's that transact in Bitcoin! https://coinatmradar.com

Not a bad list if I do say so myself! Did I miss anything awesome?

May the 'Stache be with you!
