This is why Bitcoin is more trustworthy in my book because a lot of the vulnerabilities and bugs were worked out YEARS ago. Also with so many eyes on the same code it makes it easier to discover such things for a coin with a larger community. Smaller projects that utilize newer tech are always going to have more problems in the long run because of this.
