I am certain that they will and sometime in the future, this stand won't be any different than the stand that we had for Internet Neutrality and Freedom!
I think they just want some control over it. The cat itself is already out of the bag.
Yes, something will happen. Maybe a good idea to invest in Monero or Zcash and a decentralized Exchange like Openledger.
