Gold doesn't make sense with Bitcoin in the mix

Gold used to make sense, not anymore

There was a time when owning gold made sense, but it doesn't anymore.

It's a shiny metal sure, it's somewhat rare, and it has some industrial uses.

However, now bitcoin has ate it's lunch:

Gold is old, bitcoin is the future.

I've tried to tell my parents this over the years but they never listened. I tried to ask them, "If the car breaks down are you going to start riding a horse and buggy?" Then when they say no...... I tell them that when high / hyper inflation set in people aren't going to be trying to use gold and silver that is traded on some manipulated market. They are going to run to crypto.

I mean you can't easily break off a piece of gold and buy stuff with it. Gold never really made sense for what it was owned for, but it was the best we had. Now we have better.
