People love to do things that hurt them when investing

It's no fun to buy something that everyone hates, but it's super fun to buy something everyone loves.

That type of investing almost never works out.

That's because when everyone loves something they are already in it, and there are no more buyers left to push prices up.

Conversely when everyone hates something there are no more sellers and no one left to push it down.

It's not exactly that simple, but you get the idea...
