Blood on The Street, Bitcoin and Major Alt Bleeding. Why?

I opened coinmarketcap now and I saw all coin bleeding, including Bitcoin.
I thought if bitcoin is on a downward trend, major altcoins move in an upward trend hence my surprise to see both going in downward trend.

I'm a newbie in the cryptocurrency world. I'd like to know why? Thanks ahead for your anticipated reply.
