Got Me Some Free Bitcoin (+10%) from the BitcoinCash Fork
Earlier in the day, some people had their BitcoinCash (BCC/BCH) in their Bittrex wallets, but I didn't yet. So I went to do other things.
I recently checked my Bittrex wallet after forgetting about it for a few hours, and lo and behold I had BCC. On Bittrex, it's BCC, not BCH.
I don't really have an interest in BCC, so rather than hold, I SOLD!
Maybe it will go up more, maybe it would be better to hold.
Whatever. I sold, and I got 10% more Bitcoin :)
What did it cost me?
Nothing. 0.
Essentially, free Bitcoin.
I decided, hey, I'll let people know that I got free BTC, maybe they don't know they can do the same.
If you have a personal Bitcoin wallet with your own private keys, or you have BTC on an exchange that supports the new BitcoinCash, like kraken, bittrex or bitfinex, then you can essentially get free Bitcoin if you sell your BitcoinCash.
Enjoy the free BitcoinCash for holders, or Bitcoin for sellers. Go fork yourself! :P

Cryptopia has also split my Bitcoins, but they still frozen they said that due to hardfork the wallet will remain after 24-48 hours to ensure the fork has resolved and to be sure the network is safe.
Well they will be worth more later probably ;) I just sold because whatever. Plenty of people know more about BitcoinCash then I do.
Any ideas on how to capitalize if your BTC is on Paper Wallets?
If it's on a paper wallet, then you have a private key. You can send it to an exchange wallet to sell.

I think that's not how you should do it. You should first move your BTC to a new wallet then use the private keys of your old wallet to move your BCC. This way you don't expose your BTC.
Don't quote me on this and I haven't done it yet so I can't really comment beside what I have read and think make sense.
I concur with teamsteem, you are essentially giving your bitcoin wallet away when you do this. So move your bitcoin out of that wallet first. I wnted to keep my on an exchange for a fast sell, but since bitshares might have also took a snapshot of the bitcoin block right then too, I opted to put it in a web wallet. Now I am having the same troubles figuring out how to get my BCH with my private keys.
I'm painfully ignorant on all of these keys issues...ughhh The learning curve is a bitch. If I'd only learned about all this a few years ago, not only would I be rich, but I'd also know what the fuck I'm doing lol! : 0

Your Bcash is technically on the blockchain, as all btc holders. You need to download a wallet that supports Bcash and export your private keys into it. Lots of youtube videos on how-to. good luck!

@kyusho If you are on facebook, check out the group 'Bitcoin Cash'. Also on twitter, check 'Bitcoin cash' and 'Bitcoin Cash fans' feeds. They're really knowledgeable and can tell you what to do exactly. Luckily I was already on Kraken so I didn't have to do it the wallet way :)

Not sure you can say 10% FREE bitcoin. Since Bitcoin fell nearly the same amount that BCC is/was worth. (At least what I saw from the latest prices, wrote a short piece about the "CRASH" of BCC). Anyways, glad you're happy with your sale. keep going!

Maybe 200 drop, 200/2900 is 6.8% drop. But I still got 10% more BTC. Prices go up and down. Before there was BCC, bitcoin was all over the place to, but getting more was still getting more BTC ;)

Yeah people like me are selling, and other people are buying ; ) They want it, so the price will keep going up as long as they are willing to buy more. Who knows where things go lol. I'm satisfied :)
Without someone selling no one would buy. So it's cool to see a new market developing. But I will wait a week and than I will decide to sell/buy or wait even more. :D

Just a feeling. People can laugh at it but I do football picks all the time via intuition and get pretty good results!

Wait and cash in later. I didn't care lol. It was up to 0.4 BTC before. Who knows where it goes.

I think that they didn't split the Bitcoin ! I read it in their post :
"In the event of two separate blockchains after August 1, 2017 we will support the longest chain. As of today, we have no immediate plans to fully support the Bitcoin Cash fork within our main product."
