The investment from Peter Thiel is not new news actually, he has actually invested into Bitcoin earlier in 2017 and is now re-published. With that said, I ain't complaining about additional publicity to drive the price of Bitcoin up again.
I know, I had heard of it prior and feel the same as you. It is making big waves and def. likely some traction/difference in a good way for sure.
