Divisibility

One of the drawbacks of the barter system was the difficult of giving change. As an aid to acceptability, money should be easily divisible with a range of denominations in issue to ensure that good of different prices can be purchased with a the exact money or that changed can easily be given where money for a higher denomination is offered.
