Lesson Learned: Punctuality is Important
Part 3.
In a world of African timing, punctual people are rare gems. From cooperate meetings to public ceremonies, many Nigerian believes in attending late. Most often, this is done on purpose and they even bask in the glory of coming late... "really people?"
But there are lots of advantages to being punctual to an event, a lot of which can never be over emphasized. From the joy of being able to relax before the event to meeting already known or new people (some of which could be important to your networking), being there at the right time is pleasant.
Punctuality is the soul of business, to be punctual is to prove to your clients that you are not a time waster. Time is money and astute businessmen don't joke with it. They don't respect people who waste it, since they know it's a non-renewable asset. Lose a billion dollars and it could be recovered in no time but immediately today slips by, its gone with its untapped goodies never to be recovered.
And there are other values to learn from keeping to time and be punctual, one of which happened at the just concluded First Cryptosilv Business Summit. It was an all-round surprise when the first person to arrive received a voucher of $50 to shop at the exhibition. Wow!. Rewarding isn't it? Yes... time rewards whoever respect it.
