The Hidden Disease In Crypto-Faucets Btc

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Faucets aren’t a new idea in the world of bitcoin. Compared to other services Bitcoin offers currently, faucets stand as one of the oldest ways to earn Bitcoins besides mining. But the question here is, is it really worth it? Are faucets really a good way of distributing and earning Bitcoin? Read on to be a little more educated about the subject.

Just face it, all faucets are low-paying. With an average of 3 cents per visit, you can’t be expecting much from your very own visit. There will never be a faucet that gives more than it takes.

Unfortunately for some users, faucets have become a base to where these users rely solely on faucets to earn. You may ask why I consider this unfortunate. Just take a step back, and calculate how much you make per hour, per day, or per month. Let’s take the average of 500 satoshi, and say that it takes around 30 seconds to copy your address and fill out the captcha to claim 500 satoshi. At the current price, $1 is around 0.005 Bitcoin. This means that it would take 1,000 claims, or 5,000 minutes just to add up to a single US dollar.

The more recent trend that is attracting faucet users is the deception of a big payout. What faucet users are forgetting, is that even if they win $25 or so in the jackpot, it may as well have taken the user tens of hours of trying. Faucets such as these can be addicting, as the tiny voice in your head saying “You might win today” never goes away. For this reason, faucets with big payouts should be avoided. Little things never don’t add up.

Imagine your life as a story that is going to be read by thousands. Would you want to have them reading about how you spent hours and hours doing something you hate, just for a Chance at some money? Obviously not. Time is money as they always say it, so why pay money just to stare at a computer screen?

Faucets are a complete waste of time, and without a new twist they always will be. Unfortunately for most users, they always choose to ignore these messages and learn the hard way. It might takes hours and hours of wasting your time in front of your screen to learn that even 50 cents a minute isn’t worth your time.

It’s time to wake up faucet users! Let’s make faucets just as frowned upon as Ponzi schemes. The next time you get tempted into following one of those deceiving links that lead to a faucet, think twice
