Blockchain conferences. What is their purpose?

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Everybody has places he wants to visit. Kids dream of a trip to Disneyland, moviegoers are waiting for the annual Cannes film festival, and finance and blockchain experts from the Consensus conference.

On September 19, many guests, whose goal is the development of the blockchain will meet at a conference in Singapore. The main task of most guests is to satisfy their own ambitions and to look for potential partners. The conference is so massive and so vast that it is possible to meet everyone. Therefore, each of these events usually develops in postparty and so-called "parallel events".

Why are parallel events so important?

First, they give more time for discussion. Taking into account the number of visitors (7000-8000), a person can not carry out all the necessary meetings in 10 hours, duration of the official event.

Secondly, the format of related media and noise and bureaucracy. The organizers choose for "postparty" where you can relax, drink, eat, listen to music, and avoid the intrusive attention of the media. This atmosphere creates a constructive dialogue.

Most often, side events bring more benefits than the main event. In recent times, there is a tendency to skip the conference, but at the same time to wait for the postparty to solve business problems.

This year, with Consensus: Singapore, there will be more than 20 related events. Event organizers include OKEX, DNA, BitForex and others. All the events of these organizers take place in clubs, hotels, roofs and expensive bars. One of the events will take place in a private house.

Byzantium.co and the co-founders of Cryptohou.se are organizing a party called Fireflies in a bungalow located in the hippest part of Singapore. It is expected that all the brightest representatives of the blockchain and finance will come to this party.

Of course, the format of these events is "by invitation only".

To visit Fireflies, you must complete an application on their website. At present, Hart Savni Singh (Co-Founder and President of Hosho), Ran Neu-Ner (Founder and CEO of Onchain Capital) and Henrik Andersson (IOC at Apollo Capital) are in attendance.

I would like to have your support to create content more often.
