A Canuck an Aussie walk into a Crypto Exchange....
Well, welcome to my first post on Steemit, I am so excited!!!
Is this the WoW AH all over again??
So, here I am, a month into it and a few bad (and one big bad) investment(s) later, but ahead...and that's all that should matter, right? I think so.
Where do you find this stuff?
When i got into researching everything i could about Bitcoin and the Crypto world, one thing hit me very hard as a Canadian was trying to find local wallets/exchanges and what I should and should not be using. Google wasn't much help, or at least i wasn't using it properly, and I had a very had time finding Canadian-Crypto related material. So, here I am, giving it my best to help inform, unknowingly misguide, and hopefully make someone smile, or give it a "Fuck'n 'eh".
The first step of finding somewhere that would just take my damn money and give me Bitcoin was unusually hard and a pain in the ass. Everything i Googled always took me to a US focused or European/Asian based exchange. I couldn't really nail down the "here is a Canadian wallet" right off the bat, but eventually i did and then more frustration.
What surprised the hell out of me was all the "red tape" involved in trying to get money from my bank account into their hands and BTC into my wallet. Verify this, send us this, show us that and on and on...just to take my money i thought what an ordeal. Hell, i found one place that was less strict, but as soon as they said a form of payment was to send cash through the mail..I was out!!
So, what did i find?
Fast and dirty: Coinbase
Coinbase
Pro: Fast money
Con: Expensive and the only withdrawl option is back to credit card
Reliable: Quadriga
Quadriga
Pro: Good deposit options, multiple withdraw options and can be your wallet
Con: It may have just been me, but the set up and initial deposit hokey was a pain, had to wait over 24 for the first time,
but been good after that.
Well, enough for tonight, I have more to share, and I will keep posting my findings as they arise and if your are a Crypto-Canadian like me, share your findings for us Canucks, and I will do my best to pass them on!
A running list of cool things I've found so far:
Bitpetite
Awesome HYIP, but buyer be-warned, although i have been withdrawing my daily profits without issues ($230 US in 3 days), I don't expect it to be there when i wake up each morning. Try it out though, might be your thing.
Coinigy
The best tool bar none, although it doesn't have every exchange out there, it is more than you need to get a good start. Consolidates your exchanges into one spot, easy to read and I highly suggest the one year sub, it is in beta, but works great IMO.
Have a good night Crypto land!!
finally a Canadian who's trying to help others learn how this crypto works and the wallets and stuff or at least sharing as you learn sorry you lost a lot in the progress :( hope you can make it back in due time. thanks for sharing I'll be following
Thanks for the follow @freakygeak, i will doing my best to gather all the Canadian focused info i can.
