kThe Rise of Automated Trust and the Fall of Rigged Elections
What we are entering is a new paradigm. Just as Das Kapital fundamentally changed the dynamic of governance 150 years ago, blockchain will do the same today. The merging of AI into a Blockchain system will spell the end of relying on corrupt governments to process and report votes. Having an impenetrable system enclosed within itself whilst still maintaining an open ledger will fundamentally change democracy. It will be the political revolution of the 21st Century! People will not be handing their power in the form of their vote over to the government but instead placing it into an open yet anonymous system.
At the moment, the most applicable use for this technology in elections is through partnering with arbitrator bodies that oversee voting in many third world countries. This can be done by implementing a voting system where everyone goes to ballot boxes to cast their votes electronically into an open ledger. As it would be tamper evident, any interference in the process would be undeniably evident.
Of course, in an area of prevalent corruption and fraud there is the problem of linking every vote cast to each person’s digital fingerprint. On the other hand, if people have a Private Key or ‘Seed’ that contains their entire digital footprint, this link can be made possible and kept public yet personally accessible in the same way that Bitcoin has an open ledger whilst still keeping the details and contents of each transaction protected through a cryptographic wallet.
This trustless system has the capability to bring about the transparency that modern governments have never achieved. Once trust in the reliance of AI has surpassed that of politicians the function of governments will change as they are overshadowed by open systems that are better managed by supercomputers in a process that everyone can see.
