RE: An interesting article about cryptocurrency scam

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

The author states that fraud is a crime and this is true but it can only be considered "real" if the law can be enforced.

The crypto market is unregulated and if you report a fraud, illegal activity or anything shady - the authorities will laugh and you and say it's your fault for getting involved with an industry where we cannot enforce the law.

The only real hope that we can get the sleaze and crime out of the industry is to self-regulate and to do a much, much better job than we have been doing. (That means everyone: you and I and every real cryptohead doing their part to expose scams and educate newbies before they are faced with another scam).

There is also the fact that those who get scammed are, -inpart responsible. Much of the information about the scam is available on the internet and why aren't they doing their research? Why are they blinding trusting complete strangers?

Those who are against government regulations (which is the vast majority of us) will be the first to say, "They should've done some research." AND THIS is true BUT..... they also have a responsibility to put the information out there for the newbie to find.

So true... I hope that everyone try to research first...
