Well, yes. That is the outstanding hurdle. I do not see it in my day to day life. Without widespread adoption it is and will be worth little. Like you I do not know what will happen; but we both must be ready for the possibility that Bitcoin will go to zero.
Yes there is that possibility as well. Though it does have some use as a store of value and a money transfer device.
That seems like a dreadfully negative way of stating things.
Words have power. When you go around saying things like that, you contribute to a certain negative gestalt. Given that all money has value based on confidence and perception, even crypto, there's no sense saying such things unless you want it to happen.
There is truth to that though I don't think anything he says here will impact the price of bitcoin. Though as you suggest, it is probably better to say positive things if you want the price to increase.
