Is BitConnect Really A Ponzi Scheme, Or Is It A Genuine Deal???

I have come across BitConnect only recently through a friend's referral. I have read so many reviews that people do not recommend BitConnect , and call it a scamish ponzi. So far, the price trend is going upwards. But, please tell me your reasoning whether or not it is a ponzi scheme.

If BitConnect is legit, then why so many disfavor it? Maybe it profit them?
