Advertisement proposal for Bitshares (BTS) (Known as The Decentralized Exchange-DEX)

in #bitshares7 years ago (edited)

This proposal is because of I think BTS doesn’t need marketing but focused advertisement, addressed to the right segment, oriented to the investment niches to get results. I apologize if I offended the Stan’s work and to Stan, it was not my intention, but we need to focus where traders, investors and potential customers are, we need to motivate those guys in the cryptoworld that haven’t even heard about BTS or don’t want to buy because distrust or because they think it is a scam, whatever are the reason we need to delete that wrong positioning or disrepute fed by the lack of proper and accurate information in the media.

How to fund this plan? by voting a worker proposal in the DEX with the budget to pay for the design of the advertisement (mostly banners or short animated video, etc) and to pay for publishing them.

When? After Bill, the smart guy behind the new GUI ends the Tradingview interface and when the principal bugs are fixed.

Media plan:

1. Google AdWords by opening a BTS account into AdWords for positioning into the Google search engines. We determine the keywords, landing pages, etc. then we can even participate in the AdWords Auctions to get the best keywords with fair prices. https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6349091?hl=en
2. Tradingview.com by advertising here, this website gathers hundreds of exchanges, brokers and other websites from the investment sector. This website became the principal tool for charting into the crypto-community and even for other markets like forex, commodities, stocks and indexes. It is highly positioned, covering a large part of niches. https://tradingview.com
3. Twitter by advertising here too by the @Bitshares account, first we select the target/niche which would be delimited to only the people that have traded cryptos yet, by using keywords, etc, when selected we have to be very specific and careful here because we don’t need to spend a fortune and we don’t want to call haters if we make a mistake when selecting the niche before publishing.

This is my media plan for now. I would like comments from you guys, but stop bitching lol, try to be gentle with this lady ;)

Sort:

I would suggest advetorial type pages, Stansbury Research is a good one for that and Agora. James Altrucher is going nuts on facebook right now and has tons of ads and landing pages. They are cleary working, so perhaps look at that. Also native advertising, I have seen a ton of action escalating in there too.

PS. Free hugs :)

What are your plans for tracking? How will you determine the effectiveness of your ad campaign or the media outlets you use?

IMHO if you want to fund adverts from the BTS reserve pool such as through a worker proposal, you should have a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of your ads and the media outlets you advertise in.

Thanks for taking the initiative. Lots of people think they can get results from their ad-hoc / amateur efforts, but without a plan and good metrics any positive results you might achieve are not very likely to be repeatable or allow you to adjust your campaign based on metrics.

You can't really measure results of marketing unless your marketing is solely referals/affiliates. You can't measure results because correlation is not causation.

First time that happened. My reply took forever to post and finally failed. Lost the entire thing.

Bottom line is you can get useful info about which media channels bring the best return and which adverts are the most effective. Without measurable feedback you might as well be a blind boxer hoping each swing of your fists will connect.

beg to differ ~A well thought out and designed campaign will be to onboard people signing up to Bitshares accounts. That means an ad where people click, and arrive at a landing page. At that landing page they will spend some time to explore, and sign up there and then or possibly later; for which follow up is required and managed via cookie/capture/opt-in etc.
Every click and signup is measurable in a professionally run SEM campaign.

Thanks ;)

Awesome article. keep going....followed and upvoted.

cool stuff! i hope this come to reallity soon!

The proposal should be extended to participate in tradeshows, conferences, etc. You get so far by online adds. Being the face of bitshares ads credibility to the brand. @stan is very much this person today, but let's just face it -he has his own business that is first priority.

My two bitshares

let's ignore the obvious (missing info on tracking), where would you send people?

Is there a dedicated marketing funnel ready?
