🏆 [WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT] Bitshares Fan Art Challenge
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Bitshares Fan Art Challenge, we had such an incredible response to this challenge and it was great to see so many people putting together some creative entries.
The missions of this Bitshares fan Art Challenge was to create a FUN and INSPIRATIONAL Fan Art graphic to shine a spotlight on the Bitshares Community and the POWER of our Cross-Chain Tokens. We asked that the artwork be creative designs that also feature the Whaleshare, Beyondbit, and EOSBit cross-chain token logos since they harness the synergy between the Bitshares, STEEM, and soon many other chains.
🏆 Now for the Winners!
We really liked so many of the fan art entries submitted this week, however 3 designs really stood out for not only their creativity and message of cross-chain synergy around Bistshares, but for being 100% original designs. We know how much time and effort it takes to create this kind of art work from scratch without using stock photos or clip art as the main graphical elements.
🥇 1st Place
@bronkong
This is a really cool interpretation of the cross-chain tokens working together around the Bitshares DEX like a rouge crypto gang roaming the seas to build a new and better world for us all. Thank you for including your work in progress animation as well, it was really cool to get an insight of how it was all put together. Great Work!

🥉 3rd Place
@wens
When MOON? or is it "Wens MOON?" 😂 We all thought this was a great original 2D art design showing the BeyondBitcoin trio of cross-chain tokens rocketing around the BitShares moon. Another great art entry by Wens, Nice Work!

PRIZE: 10 Whaleshare + 10 BeyondBits + 10 EOSBit
Plus, ALL other genuine entries recieved generous upvote rewards.
Check them all out here in the original contest post.
What are Whaleshare, Beyondbit and EOSBit?
These tokens started as a conversations in the BeyondBitcoin hangout series shortly after Steem was launched historically in those very hangouts. It began as "community tokens" or "tag coins". These cross-chain tokens give their holders the power to Summon a Whalevote to posts without having to pay for attention. And they are only given to people who Participate in Challenges, Win Contests and do other things of value for the community!
Whaleshare, BeyondBit and EOSBit tokens are on BitShares! So make sure you have a BitShares/OpenLedger account to receive and send them for upvotes on your Steem posts!
HOLD on to your EOSBit!
These powerful cross-chain tokens will be very valuable in the future once EOS.IO has launched and associated DApps are brought online. We encourage you to participate in as many challenges as you are capable of and save up your EOSBit! You might want to consider holding on to your WHALESHARE tokens too. ;-)

Actually, this is the first time I've done this, I want to make it clear that I didn't enter the contest. Estoy realmente enfadado con la participación de @wens and I can't believe this user won.
That image is copyrighted, does not belong to that user, just downloaded it and edited it in Photoshop. It's from a site called Freepik where you can download the editable files as long as it's not for personal benefit, and attribute the credits to the author. Which this user didn't do in his post.
I'm browsing Freepik in search of the image as evidence. This could be considered plagiarism, and is not good for the Steemit community.
Did you found the image I am looking too. You can clearly see that the entry is a image from Freepik it's the same style. Thank you for pointing it out.
@jossduarte & @danyelk, this hurts. can you show the link to the image you're referring to? for my peace of mind :) i haven't tried downloading any assets from freepik as i haven't known this website not until you pointed it out. btw, i'm a she.
well, i'm not guilty of doing what you're accusing me to. if you have an issue with my entry being on the 3rd place, raise it to the community.
I have no problem with you, it's not personal. It is with the entry itself, I'm sure I have had that same rocket downloaded to my previous PC since Freepik years ago, I'm still searching but looking for an image edited in Freepik is to search for a needle in a haystack, editing two anchor points you can modify the image.
As designers we both know that any vector of the Internet comes in layers, and that it is enough to convert the objects of each layer into intelligent objects to look like these images. That proves as much as I can prove plagiarism without the image.
I'm not looking for them to put a flag on you, take away opportunities to participate or take away the prize. I'm looking for this not to happen in upcoming contests
Congrats to the winner nice job!
I am sorry but in my opinion the third place is not deserved there are much better entries!
I don't know after what criteria the entries god judged but in my opinion this time it's a fail judgement.
I like the winner image but it didn't follow the rules the image is 1058x635 in size and the rules ask for a square image.
My work is 100% orginal so its no problem to change it into square size...i understud this "at least" that priority lies in resolution.
Here is a clean version, the team can use for their own slogan:
Hey Danyel, while we did like your entry and just about everything you submit each week ;-) we wanted to put an emphasis on art that was created mostly from scratch over ones that use modified stock photos and clip art as the base for the design as we have been seeing too much of that lately.
We are trying to push people's creativity - there is a bigger long-term objective at play beyond just challenges for tokens.
We did make a note of that at the top of this post, and have that first guideline in the challenge post as a "should be" versus the usual "MUST be". It's not the first time we have chosen entries that fall just outside the main guidelines.
Thanks buddy okay I understand that and the first and second place are very cool arts but I don't agree that the third place is deserved. Just check out Freepik and you will see a lot of images like the one who got third place. It is just my opinion and for me there are better entries as place three and I am not talking about mine.
Have a nice day and c ya in the next challenge :)
whatever could you mean by "bigger long-term objectives"? ;)
honestly, every design i've submitted is made by me. i'm no expert, not even a professional graphic designer but i also value other's work. you could say that you can find similar images like my submitted design but this one, i've made this out of shapes using Adobe Photoshop.
well anyway, that's your opinion and that's fine for me 😊
i'm just saying that i won't dare submit an entry which i don't own and take credit from it.
cheers!
ps. can you please attached the image from the freepik? thanks!
It's okay just forget it and keep doing what you do.
wens feel free to show people by providing the .psd file
It helps people substantially and would only take a moment to clear your name. this is my recommendation.
thank you sir.
for those who want to find out, here's the psd file from my shared drive.
