Binance to become a decentralized exchange
Hello steemians!
There are some groundbreaking news I would like to share with you today.
Four hours ago Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume, announced on their website that they plan to turn their CEX into a DEX.
In this announcement: https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001668872
they talk about how fast their platform has grown in the last 6 month, how they've created a whole bunch of different services to support their ecosystem and how important it is for them to provide users with best experience.
But nothing of it matters, because the HUGE announcement is that they are developing their own blockchain - Binance chain - which will focus on performance, ease-of-use, and liquidity.
Nothing has been said about the tech they will use, the consensus model or node distribution for now, but this tweet:
promised more details in the coming days.
I won't make any comments on how this event will impact Bitshares, if at all, however I would like to remind you that:
Bitshares is much more than just a DEX. The trading platform is only one of its many features, not the sole purpose.
Major upgrades to Bitshares incoming when EOS goes live.
Thanks for reading!
Comment, upvote and have a great time of the day!
Does that mean they will offer coins we can purchase?
Great info.
Joy
The binance coin will migrate to the new chain and probably could be available for trade on other exchanges, but I doubt it. Aside from that, they are not an ICO platform, at least for now, so the chance of them creating a bunch of new coins to sell to people is slim IMO
Thank you
could be nice if they move there order books to the bitshares exchange like CCEDX did
