Bitshares real world adoption
Hello steemians!
Every serious cryptocurrency project dreams about global adoption. They want their platform to be used by everyone, to revolutionize the banking and financial industry.
Right now all of them are just a speculation tool for traders on the crypto exchanges and the mere rumors of some big corporate names even looking on any particular coin sends its price skyrocketing. It looks like people have forgotten about the original idea behind Bitcoin that got it all started.
We all know how great of a platform Bitshares is. It's fast, scalable and has a variety of very neat and useful features. We also know that several businesses have already learned about its potential and are building their operation on it. All of them are using the capabilities of the platform to provide various services to their customers
But what if I told you that Bitshares is going to be used as an actual currency? A medium of exchange that can be paid with for actual, real world goods? Well that's what's happening!
One of our awesome devs, bitcrab, have met with Mr. Zheng Xiaojun, the board member of the Caribbean Free Trade Zone. They've discussed the problems this particular area has with their banking services access being severely limited. In order to solve these problems they've begun considering using a cryptocurrency and initially wanted to go with Tether.
Bitcrab convinced him that creating a smartcoin on the Bitshares platform was a much better alternative and now Mr. Zheng Xiaojun wants to partner with us and adopt bitXCD (XCD is the symbol for the Eastern Caribbean dollar), as a currency in CFTZ!

This, in my opinion, is a tremendous leap forward for Bitshares, which will now not only demonstrate it's capabilities for the whole world, but also will actually help people.

STOPThanks for the information, I would have to look into this some more especially Mr. Zheng Xiaojun and the Caribbean Free Trade Zone, I am familiar with Caricom and XCD is a pegged base currency so I see what sort of volume it has and what exactly is the impact
I'm watching this, thank you for keeping us abreast of Bitshares and keeping up up with the slow, boring pace that has gotten so many into a tizzy lol. I like, slow and boring and abhor frenetic energy.
